Benedict Crowell Photographs, Series II 1917-1940

Benedict Crowell (1869-1952) was a Cleveland, Ohio, engineer, builder and bank president who became Assistant Secretary of War and Director of Munitions during World War I. The collection consists of photographs depicting the life and career of General Benedict Crowell, including his service during World War I, and portraits of Woodrow Wilson and Herbert Hoover, dedication of various European monuments after the war, scenes in Paris, views of France, Holland, Belgium, Italy, and Germany, and photographs and a pamphlet from the Naval Rigid Airship Station in Lakehurst, New Jersey.
